1. What are the differences between various antibody discovery platforms?

Different antibody discovery platforms vary mainly in how B cells are sourced, how antibodies are screened. Hybridoma technology: Uses immunized animals and fuses B cells with myeloma cells to generate stable antibody-producing clones. It is reliable and well-established but relatively time-consuming and lower throughput. Single B cell screening platforms: Directly isolate antigen-specific B cells and obtain paired heavy and light chain sequences. This approach is faster, higher throughput, and preserves natural antibody pairing, enabling rapid discovery of functional antibodies. Display technologies (e.g., Phage Display, yeast or mammalian display): Use large in vitro libraries to screen antibodies against targets. They provide very large diversity and do not require immunization, but may require additional steps to optimize affinity and functionality.

Selection depends on project goals, timeline, and target characteristics. Factors to consider include Diversity Needed, Timeline, Natural Pairing, Species, and Throughput.
